The Deputies training is never-ending. Their proficiency in firearms is extremely important. Other areas of continuing training and education include: cultural diversity, civil law and procedures, high risk warrant service, penal code, defensive tactics, ASP/PR24, OC (pepper) spray and other specific training as needed. The department has its own training number as well as a large number of TCLEOSE certified instructors so that in-house training may be conducted as needed.
